Toner T2 is a hydrating and alcohol-free toner with a a slightly thicker texture than water that prevents it from evaporating too quickly. This provides the skin with longer-lasting hydration. It is also a balancing lotion that strengthens the natural skin barrier with skin-loving botanical extracts.
It can be used as a 3-in-1 multi-tasker: toner, hydrating lotion and treatment essence.
The main function of Toner T2 is different from Cleanser 1. We recommend using Toner T2 after cleansing to help restore your skin’s pH balance.
Our skin’s normal pH value is approximately 5.4 to 5.5. Its natural secretion, such as sweat and sebum form an acid mantle which usually has a pH of 4 to 5.5. This acidic environment helps protect skin from bacterial growth and the resulting skin problems.
When we cleanse our face to remove unwanted dirt, impurities and excessive oil that clog pores, it is inevitable that we would disturb the acid mantle. When harsher cleansing soap is used, the acidic protection may even be disrupted. The resulting shift towards the alkaline pH leaves the skin vulnerable to bacterial infection.
A toning step that helps with the acidic balance is necessary to strengthen the skin right after cleansing. On top of this basic function, Toner T2 is designed for effective hydration and soothing benefits, fully preparing it for subsequent skin care steps.
The smell you might have encountered could be from the Sodium Polyglutamate in the formula that provides moisture to the skin.
It is not necessary to use cotton pads to apply Toner T2. We recommend applying Toner T2 gently onto face using your fingers.
Many people choose to use a cotton pad to apply toner for extra cleansing or exfoliation purposes. However, we recommend to use Miraglo with Cleanser 1 for thorough cleansing and exfoliation instead. Its ultrafine mirofibres delicately exfoliate with precision and thoroughly remove impurities. This will refrain the need to use coarse cotton fiber to exfoliate that may be abrasive to your skin and ineffective.
