Generally, after the age of 25, our skin's collagen starts to break down at a faster rate than it is being produced. We recommend using C15 Essence 7 to build up a rich reserve of nutrients to enable our skin to produce enough collagen around this age.
The rate at which your skin ages depends on your genetics, environment, skin colour, UV exposure, and lifestyle. You may wish to start using C15 Essence 7 two to three times a week if you are in your twenties and build up the frequency of use from there.
C15 Essence 7 has a high concentration of Vitamin C. To ensure that the active is efficacious, we stabilise it in an anhydrous (water-free) formula. The anhydrous solvent blend releases heat when the product comes into contact with the moisture on the skin surface, which is felt as a mild warming sensation.
Apart from stabilising the formula, the warming sensation also helps to soothe the mild tingling sensations arising from concentrated ascorbic acid formulas.
After using the product for some time, your skin may naturally adapt to the product and the warming sensation will slowly fade.
Yes, in the day, the strong antioxidant properties in C15 Essence 7 can help to neutralise free radical damage contributed by UV exposure. We recommend to use C15 Essence 7 in the day followed by ample amount of sunscreen to double up on your sun protection efforts.
C15 Essence 7 is a high-performance Vitamin C product containing ascorbic acid. While ascorbic acid is a strong antioxidant that offers many skin benefits, it is also prone to oxidation. With time, constant exposure to air may cause oxidation, turning the product yellow. This is normal and common among concentrated Vitamin C products.
Please be assured that under proper/normal usage, the product quality will not be affected. To prevent severe oxidation, a good practice of using Vitamin C products is to tighten the bottle cap immediately after use and store the product in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
Formulas of Vitamin C serums are typically water-based or anhydrous ("without water"). The former is less stable, while the latter is more stable, even in the presence of light. However, anhydrous Vitamin C serums tend to turn cloudy at low temperatures. The crystals/cloudiness observed are ascorbic acid, the active Vitamin C ingredient in C15 Essence 7.
As C15 Essence 7 is an anhydrous formula, storing the product in refrigerators or colder temperatures may decrease the solubility of ascorbic acid, which causes it to form precipitates in the solution. This results in turbidity, cloudiness or crystals to be observed in the product.
Please be assured that this is a natural physical phenomenon that is common in anhydrous formulas containing high concentration of ascorbic acid. This can be resolved by keeping the product in room temperature and gently shaking the product before use. Product quality is not affected.

Both Kojic Acid and Vitamin C are antioxidants proven to have the ability to reduce melanin formation. There is no sufficient evidence to show that Kojic Acid and Vitamin C should not be used together. For new users, we always encourage not to start with too many different products. When you wish to add some new products into your existing routine, try incorporating them one at a time, adjust the dosage accordingly and observe how your skin responds to it.
